Economic Development

Doing Business in Olmsted Falls
The Economic Development Department serves to attract and retain businesses. We work to ensure the City of Olmsted Falls provides opportunities for economic vitality across a wide range of businesses. The City is currently working to develop new incentive programs for large, mid-size and small businesses.

Olmsted Falls' picturesque downtown boasts several parks and waterfalls and is highly walkable. A new zoning ordinance expanded the historic downtown by 9.74 acres in 2018. This will call for careful development planning that will include mixed-use traditional neighborhoods, offering residential and commerical convenience along with green space and smart streets design. Business and residential development opportunities will be available beginning in 2019. Contact Paula Hennessey Accordino, economic development director for more information about opportunities. 440.427.2357

A major point of pride for the City is our historic downtown. Working with the Ohio Main Street Program, Explore Olmsted Falls became an affiliate Main Street community in 2018. The group is an independent, nonprofit (501 c3 pending) with a mission "to unite, celebrate, enhance and promote historic downtown Olmsted Falls for economic vibrancy."  The Main Street Program is the local-level, economic revitalization strategy of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. As the leading voice for preservation, the National Trust is "the cause for people saving places." The history and character of Olmsted Falls are worth saving, revitalizing and sharing and will always be an important part of what makes the City a great place for business.
